CLG:  Opening Bell: Carrots, Garlic Plants, Honey, Kale!

Good afternoon!

We have only two more markets before Thanksgiving. We will not have a market on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Be sure to stock up on all of your holiday favorites early before they are sold out.

Cedar Rock Ridge now has their 2017 Faulkner County Fair Best of Show Award-winning Garlic listed for only $1 per plant. Ready to transplant into your garden now. Also makes great holiday gifts for friends and family.

I’ve had several questions about getting turkeys from Grass Roots Co-op. There will not be a local delivery this year, but you can order one from their website: www.grassrootscoop.com and it will be shipped frozen to your house. All turkeys will be shipped on November 14th and arrive on No ember 15th.

Check out the beautiful Carrots from Kellogg Valley Farm!

Be sure to SEARCH for your favorite items using the search field. Over 700 items available now!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)

The market is now OPEN for orders. Click here to start shopping:

www.conway.locallygrown.net

Please check your email a few minutes after you place your order to make sure you get an order confirmation. Thank you for being a valuable part of CLG!
Have a great week!

Middle Tennessee Locally Grown:  Time to Order Fresh Local Farm Products!

Manchester Locally Grown market

We always have a few new farmers, waiting their turn to join our market and offer their wonderful products to all our customers. In order to add more farmers, we feel it would be best to grow our customer base a bit. We want to be able to offer you and your friends some new local farm products.

The farmers and market managers would really appreciate your efforts to help spread the word about our fantastic market. What a great local resource for fresh, local farm products. Please pick up a few business cards to hand out to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Advertising is very expensive, and we want to use our slim market funds in a responsible manner.

Farm News of the Week

Molly Cornelison of Kountry Vittles sends this message:
Good Fall morning Folks, I’ve been a bit quiet from ya’ll for a couple of months. I apologize for that, life has a way of getting hectic at times. I am now back to my simple kitchen and my simple baking routine, and Good Lord willing it shall stay that way. I have added a lot of new items to the market place this week, preparing for the upcoming holidays. Check out the fudges I have added, listed in the bakery section under Candy. My personal favorite is my Chocolate Fudge with coconut, while my son’s favorite is my Peanut Butter Fudge. I have added Buckeyes and my personal favorite Martha Washingtons. Oh those creamy coconut balls with walnuts are addictive. With the holidays come parties and gift giving. These items make the perfect take-along addition to the company party or family get together, or even a gift for that one person you have no idea what to get. Some of my new additions do not have pictures quite yet, but those are coming soon I promise (just have to grab camera before they are all eaten. lol).

(L to R, top): Buckeyes, Pecan Pie Cheesecake Fudge.
(middle): Butter Pecan Fudge, Oreo Balls. (bottom): Customizable Cupcakes, and Pumpkin Roll, available with or without nuts.

This message is from Linda Reed:
Dogwood Valley Greenhouse is now offering pre-orders on Christmas decorations. Pre-orders will be available through the Nov 16 market. After that the retail prices will be effective.

Kissing Balls on hangers – about 13-15" diameter – retail $35, pre-sale 10% discount = $31.50
Christmas Basket Centerpiece – about 10" in diameter – retail $20, pre-sale 10% discount = $18
Wreaths – on 16" base, measuring around 22-24" diameter – retail $27, pre-sale 10% discount = $24

These Christmas decorations are all handmade by me, from all natural materials gathered from my property or the local Christmas tree farm, except for the bright red berries and ribbons. All will be in limited quantities, but pre-sale orders will be guaranteed.

(L to R) Two Kissing Balls, Centerpiece, and Wreath.

Each week Flying S Farms adds some new offerings early on Sunday morning, after I’ve sent out the newsletter. Please remember to check their vegetables, baked goods, and jams & jellies for their latest items. This week Catherine has added:

Turnip Greens & Ka Co.

CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

You’re receiving this email because you’re a registered customer on our online farmers market, and we wanted to let you know that we’re open for business. We will be open weekly from Friday at 6pm to Monday at noon until further notice. A few things have changed on our site, so please take a look at this email and read the Q&A.

PICK-UP: Two pick-up locations this winter, in North and West Asheville, starting Wednesday at 3pm and ending Friday at 8pm. Especially as it gets colder outside and things freeze, we encourage you to pick up as early as possible.

PAYMENT: Please drop off your payment in our cash box every time you pick up your order. There will be limited change. We prefer checks or cash but if you need to pay by card or EBT please email or call us beforehand and we’ll work it out.

Please note that there is now a store usage fee that will be added to your order at check out. The fee covers what we get charged for using this website and what we need for overhead (checks, paper, and market manager fees) to make this amazing system work!
