Paris Arkansas Farmers Market: Changes!
Good Morning folks!
We are considering some changes to the days of the week for the online market.
Truthfully, We have not had a bunch of luck getting more than a few orders a week and at this point, it is not economically sound to continue on the schedule we are currently on. We would very much like to continue offering the online market as a service and convenience to our area, so we are considering moving our pickup day to saturday during brewery hours. This way we will be open, and staff will be on hand to assist customers with orders. We would likely open ordering Monday thru Thursday for Saturday pickup.
We realize that many of you already sell at farmers markets on Saturday, but we are really hoping this just extends your sales on Saturdays rather than causes any issues.
For farmers and producers, we will continue to provide the halfway pickup in Russellville, but may have to change the location to accommodate, but we’re willing to do that.
Now’s the time to voice opinions etc…you can do so by replying to this email!
Thanks all…we really hope to be able to continue this market in a way that sustains everyone involved!!

1 tablespoon EVOO
1 medium onion, chopped
1 pound ground beef
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 pound eggplant, diced
3/4 cup okra cut into 1/2" pieces
3/4 cup sliced celery
2 (14.5 ounce) cans Italian crushed tomatoes
28 oz chicken broth
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat, and cook the onion, beef, and garlic until beef is evenly brown. Drain grease, and mix in eggplant, celery, okra and tomatoes. Pour in broth. Mix in brown sugar, and season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir until heated through.
Add in any optional starch and continue cooking on low or until done.
Options: Vermouth (I used 1 tablespoon but probably could’ve used more)
Zucchini, pasta, brown rice, lentils, quinoa.
I added a package of “Seeds of Change” brown rice and quinoa which was so easy and fast! Costco sells a box of 6.
Sweet Pea will be out of town for the entire month of August. Have fun in Pompeii, Mel, we’ll miss all your wonderful veggies!
Doug’s Wild Alaskan Salmon Doug should be just about finished fishing in Alaska so we expect to receive a new delivery of Salmon around mid to late September.
Ancient Awakenings is selling this week.
Carrell Farms & Buffalo Gal watch for them, they’ll list the week they are delivering.
Grace Acres Farm we’re sorry to see you go so soon but understand that mama cows need to stay healthy for their babies and we’ll have to be patient for their milk. We appreciate all the milk they shared with us.

Just a reminder that the market will close, this morning! I usually close it up at 8am, but because I was having problems with the market site, yesterday, I am going to give an extra hour, this morning!
At 9am, the market will close for the week! Make sure to groove on in, and place those orders! We have lovely produce, sunflowers, EGGS, and all of the other amazing products, that you love!!
When I reopen, on Thursday eve, we will say hello to our new coffee vendor!! We bring to you, The Spotted Cow Coffeehouse, in conjunction with Hemisphere’s Coffee Roasters, to bring you local coffee choices, on the market!! Make sure to read all about The Spotted Cow, in their bio, and give them some love as you drive through town, and need that coffee fix!!
Also, check out new produce vendor, Olga, and her amazing, produce from her gardens!!
A quick note that Madison Ling is returning to school, and will be offering her products in very limited forms and quantities, but is available for special orders on her gluten free baked goods!! We’ve loved having her, all summer long, with us!!
The eggs have been an issue! We cannot keep them in stock!! But, Tyler was able to get more on, Oakview is working hard with their egg vendors to bring more in, and hopefully, we will continue to keep the quantities up for you!! JC Growers have older girls, now, who just are not laying. Jim is on a vacation leave with Rocky Ridge, and we just really miss the over production of eggs, but we are working on it!!
Ok…go, order, have a great day…see you at 9am!
